Connection is why we’re here. We are hardwired to connect with others, it’s what gives purpose and meaning to our lives, and without it there is suffering.
— Brene Brown, Ph.D. LMSW

Regardless our age, we all share something in common, we are built for connection. The earliest example we all get is our family unit. I bet you are wishing you had a nickel for every time your child ignored a direction from you. Or for every time they looked at you as if you were an alien with three heads - as if you had just cancelled Christmas - forever, or asked them to walk to school 100 miles uphill, both ways, through the snow, while eating all their vegetables. Or perhaps something your child did made you wonder to yourself, "What strange alien life form is this and what have they done with my child?" You simply want things to be normal, to go back to the way they were supposed to go for you and your child(ren) – talented (sports, music, dance), good friends, solid grades, no drugs, and most importantly respectful toward you. However, somewhere along the way your family's story veered off and you are trying to figure out what caused all these struggles.

When it comes to therapy it is no different. The process starts with reestablishing connection. Family sessions include specific interventions aimed at opening up communication and nurturing the broken relationships. The process is grounded in Family Systems Therapy, while utilizing other skills and approaches all intended to generate movement and get you and your family back to experiencing joy. Joy grounded in mutual love and respect.

If you are sick and tired of the recurring issues in your family, it is time. We can help you start on a bold new voyage to a rewarding family life.

To boldly go where no man has gone before.
